It's a BOY!!!

I took Hudson to my work today because I needed to drop off a shower gift. I met our new supervisor for the first time, and she's oohing and aahing over how cute SHE (Hudson) is. He's wearing blue overalls with a puppy dog bone shirt underneath and obviously boyish brown shoes. Luckily my boss was standing there and corrected her, since I hate doing that myself since I know how bad it makes the offender feel (having been the offender before). This used to happen all the time. Ok, I know, he was bald, and if I dressed him in a neutral color, perhaps it's hard to tell...but come on now, I think he definitely looks like a little boy now. She covered by saying "He's just too pretty to be a boy. Look at that beautiful hair." Now it's definitely time for a haircut.

Does this messy crazy dude look like a girl to you???

Don't Leave me Mommy

Well, I had to work over the weekend, so no news there except that I think Hudson says some version of "uh-oh, spaghetti-o", which I'm surprised he picked up, as I know I say it, but not frequently or with a lot of emphasis. It sounds like "uh-oh-e-o".

I tried to leave him at the kid club at the gym yesterday, which I hadn't tried to do since we left California. Well, needless to say, I didn't get a workout in. He was crying, so I stayed with him a good 30 minutes, playing, to see if I could get him used to the center. The attendant was so sweet and was doing everything to make him happy. Finally, I thought he was ok, so I told him bye and left, and he was fine (or so I thought). I had enough time to make it to my bike, sit down, and open my book, when I hear my name over the loud speaker to return to the kids' club, so I return. We play about 30 more minutes, and low-and-behold, they have a remote control for some video game. We all know how our little computer nerd loves electronics, so I think he's in heaven. I wait a good while and then sneak out. I get a good 15 minutes of exercise in when I hear my name announced again. I return to see him throwing a tantrum on the floor. The little attendant looked terrified, so I gathered him up and left, and we went to the park instead. Now I don't know what to do- keep trying and see if he gets used to it, or give up and try to make myself get up early before D goes to work. Blah. We really probably need to be separated more. We're both so attached to each other. I'm only away from him when I leave for work, and he screams, but I know he's only awake a little while, and I'm home when he wakes up. I'm probably ruining him....

We're having a lazy day today but probably about to head to the park again. We're both absolutely loving this weather. I could get used to this.

Just another friday

Not much to say today....we had a lazy day and just played around the house since it rained. We did, of course, manage to make it to Target to spend some money.

Hudson can now say "Round and Round" from "Wheels on the bus" and some form of "Wesley," which kinda sounds like "Ledie." He's a bit on the cranky side. We attempted to find a place to get his haircut but striked out, so he's a major mullet man!

Just a couple of monkeys in the zoo...

Ok, since I'm really bad about writing in Hudson's baby book or journal, maybe I'll be better doing this to keep track of his new developments....Just a warning, this will probably be a complete Hudson blog since most of my life currently revolves around him!

Today we went to the zoo. I don't think he cared too much about the animals in the beginning. In fact, he was downright scared of the petting zoo. I was beginning to think they sent me home with the wrong baby from the hospital! He was more curious about the various types of rocks and fences that he could climb on. He was also pretty curious about the other children there and what type of snacks they brought, since he had the only mom who was an idiot and didn't pack any (In my defense, we did eat lunch immediately before heading out there.)! He loved the choo choo train, though I was pretty disappointed at the shabbily painted cut-out animals haphazardly placed along the train route. Towards the end, he got really tired and seemed to become more interested in the animals while being carried. True to form, he laughed out loud at the monkeys but seemed jealous that even the monkey had a sippy cup full of juice. The great thing about the Austin zoo (other than the fact that it is a rescue zoo - not one of those full of concrete where you feel sorry for the critters) is that you can see the whole thing in a couple of hours, which is nice because it was HOT at 85 today (wishing for shorts). Of course, my camera wouldn't work so I have no evidence of the trip. Maybe I just made the whole thing up so he'll think I'm a better mom than I am...hmm....

In other news, tomorrow Keta and I start our weight loss challenge. Boy do I need that before summer. The warm weather has made me realize that I have absolutely nothing to wear since at this time last year, I was nursing and was looking fairly good, if I do say so myself.

Well, time to go be a wife/mommy and find some food for my monkeys.....
